Clay Shooting

The clay shoot at the Irish Game and Country Fair at Birr Castle to be held on 25th and 26th of August will be hosted by Derrinsallow Shoot who are based in Birr.

The Irish Game and Country Fair Challenge

This will be a Sporting Clay Shoot with prizes valued in excess of €10000. The top prize is a Beretta 687 EELL valued at €6500 kindly sponsored by David Brennan of the Ardee Sports Company. (www.ardeesports.com)

Clay Shooting

The main competition is a 50 Bird Sporting over the 2 days and the following scores each day will qualify for the final with the overall winner claiming the Beretta 687EELL.
2nd Prize is a pair of Binoculars + €100 & 3rd Prize is €100

The following will qualify for the final:
Class A/AA - Best three scores
Class B/C - Best three scores
Unclassified - Best three scores
Side by Side - Best two scores


This will ensure that all guns will have a REAL chance of winning the TOP PRIZE

In the FINAL ALL SHOOTERS WILL SHOOT OFF SCRATCH

Second 50 Bird Sporting Shoot

There will be a 2nd 50 Bird Sporting each day with the following prizes

1st - A days driven Pheasant shooting with Derrinsallow Shoot in Birr
2nd - €100
3rd - €75

The Flush

Other competitions include a 2 Man Game Flush and a 2 Man Duck Flush with the following prizes in each competition each day.

1st €150 each gun,
2nd €75
3rd €50

The Try Gun

Finally for visitors wanting to try their hand at shooting clays we will have a "Try Gun" with a qualified coach

Car parking for Clay Shooters will be in the Mount Palmer part of the estate. Entrance gate C will be on the Roscrea Road side of town.
